Odin

From his earliest childhood drawing win at age 4, Odin’s creative journey has always been guided by a blend of artistry and craftsmanship. Raised working on a family homestead — building, growing, creating — he learned early that shaping raw materials by hand held deeper meaning than merely producing an object. His skillset grew from basic tools at age 10 into a life devoted to sculpture, woodworking, and large-scale installations. Today, Odin isn’t just about making art — he’s about inspiring experiences. His vision stretches beyond the piece itself: he aims to create work that interacts with people, evokes wonder, and becomes part of a shared space.

Odin's Story
Odin Carreiro is a New Bedford artist, master woodworker, fabricator, designer, and teacher with nearly three decades of experience spanning traditional fine woodworking, custom furniture, museum exhibit fabrication, large-scale sculpture and installations, painting, CNC fabrication, and digital design. Classically trained in traditional woodworking and equally at home with modern design and fabrication technology, Odin has created everything from high-end furniture and interactive museum exhibits to grant-funded sculptures and immersive art installations. Today, he brings that lifelong combination of art, craftsmanship, and problem-solving to his work at Whaling City Masterworks.
Furniture & Woodworking
Decades of traditional craftsmanship meet creative design in custom furniture, cabinetry, architectural woodwork, and one-of-a-kind builds, created with an emphasis on precision, durability, and fine detail.
Sculpture & Installations
From intimate sculptural pieces to large-scale immersive environments, Odin’s work combines art, structure, and fabrication to create pieces designed to transform and interact with the spaces around them.
Exhibit & Interactive Display
Drawing from professional museum and experiential fabrication, these projects are designed to be more than viewed. They combine creativity, engineering, and hands-on interaction to create engaging physical experiences.
Digital Design & 3D Modeling
Before the first cut is made, many projects begin digitally. Using CAD, SketchUp, VCarve, and other design tools, Odin develops concepts, layouts, models, and fabrication plans that turn an idea into something buildable.
Paintings & Fine Art
Rooted in a lifelong background in studio art, Odin’s paintings explore bold color, form, movement, and personal expression across canvas, murals, and other hand-painted works.
Custom Fabrication
For ideas that don’t fit neatly into a category. Odin combines woodworking, CNC technology, traditional tools, unconventional materials, and decades of problem-solving experience to turn unique concepts into physical creations.
